Pocket moments of delight

“How can I create more joy and less extreme anxiety into my everyday life?”  shaking with anxiety asking in front of an online room of hundreds of other students.

The coach responded, “focus on the smallest, tiniest moments of delight you can find throughout your day. Like the sunshine shining in your window in just the most beautiful way or noticing a song bird beautifully singing their heart out outside your window.”

Took a deep breath, nodded my head and said thank you, as the coach went on to answer the next students question.

Began to practice this.

The warm wind on my cheeks.

The soft colors of the sunrise over the mountains.

The beautiful eagle flying overhead while waiting for the train to pass.

Kelsey at the river, enjoying the light snow falling around.

A hot cup of tea in my favorite mug on a cold morning.

The way my fleece blanket feels in the morning before getting out of bed.

The breathe of fresh air when walking outside for the first time of the day.

Intentionally becoming aware of pocket, micro moments of delight in my everyday life.

Then began to meet each micro moment of delight with gratitude.

Being grateful for the tiniest pieces of my everyday.

The in between moments.

The moments that so often get lost in the hustle and bustle of the everyday.

So grateful to my past self, for doing what felt like the scary thing, sharing how much I had been struggling with weekly panic attacks and daily anxiety and asking for help.

Grateful now everyday for all of the micro moments that used to go unnoticed for me in my everyday life.

Grateful now everyday for every piece of this crazy ride we call life.

Not without anxiety, stresses, challenges and troubles, but with those I can find the serve, I can learn the lessons, I can grow from what challenges me in my life now, rather than wilt away into the feeling of nothingness.

Grateful everyday for choosing to grow, learn, expand, get back up again.

Invite yourself to notice the smallest, tiniest micro moments of delight throughout your day today, and just notice how you feel after.

Play.

Be curious.

In love, light and gratitude, have a beautiful rest of your day.
