Let the Bull Sh!t Fuel You

“Women over 30 can’t learn tech.”  Instantly could feel my blood boil, as I over heard one of the laborers on  a job sight talking shit.

Being the only woman on the job sight, w/ 15 dudes roaming around, frantically trying to finish a crazy build dead line, while Nate and I where installing a huge custom furniture package (at the same time? I know that’s another story)

Decided it was not the time or place for me to lose my shit on this young dumb ass, who obviously had very little life experience, but…

It fueled a fire in me.

Ever since I was little, literally as long as I can remember, I have ALWAYS been a supporter, believer, and force for woman’s rights.

A natural leader, even got chosen for leadership enrichment program in 4th grade, class aid position in 8th grade and choose to be class aid as a freshman in high school for Adventures in Personal Development for the rest of high school, in a class with 9th-12th.

Continuing on into college in Outdoor Education and Leadership, even spending 80 days in the back country of the Yukon territory backpacking, glacier mountaineering and whitewater canoeing with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS)

This photo represents so much transformation and growth. Taken in Inspiration Cabin, once a 2 car garage Kelsey, her husband Nate and Kelsey’s folks converted into a stunning luxury 1 bed Airbnb and showroom for Kelsey and Nate’s metal art work and custom furniture. With her newest steel art work installation of Glacier National Park Peak mountains and river plant wall holder. Practicing yoga (in the middle of her daily yoga practice for a full year), something Kelsey has always wanted to do but for years never committed to herself out of fear.

Growing and becoming more intentional with my personal growth and empowerment (practice what you teach) I can see now, how by my early 20’s I was scared/nervous for leadership, even though I still continued in my jobs and careers to grow into leadership positions.

When I was in leadership positions, lead management at a Coop coffee shop, teaching massage at the massage school, coaching figure skating, opening my private massage practices, I can see now how I held myself back in them.

W/ so many opportunities to lead, so came the comments, “you are so bossy.” “okay bitch” “I can talk to you however I want, you’re a woman”

Dimmed my light, got in my head, numbed out more and more.

Not going for great opportunities out of fear.

Worst part is, I didn’t even realize I was playing so small for so long.

When I got so sick of feeling miserable with myself and my life, I started to take steps to empower myself.

Started investing time, money and energy into my mind, body and energy.

Shedding old stories, limiting beliefs, bravely stepping into fear, because I knew my life was I was meant for more.

Self growth is an adventure of and for a life time.  There is always more to grow.

Empowering women, sharing our stories, showing up in the world in a powerful AF way, creating, leading and growing WTF we want is important!

Women and men (like this little 💩 head) need to see women leading, learning, growing, supporting each other, teaching, in government, creating wealth, and standing up for love!

So rather than, lose my sh!t and waste my breath on that kid at the job site, grounded back into myself, showed the F up with a stunning, high end, quality custom barn wood bar, dinning room table and banquet, barn wood ski lockers (all of which I designed on Sketch-up, a 3D design software I am self taught on) and allowed it to fuel me and my actions.

Continuing to learn new tech, skills, design, back end systems, renovating a 2 car garage into a stunning Airbnb/showroom, empowering badass women business owners and entrepreneurs to move through fear of judgement, rejection, not feeling good enough, and into empowerment, solidity, self trust, self love, so that they can create, impact, lead, grow and empower themselves and everyone around them!

It is time to step into your power, know yourself, grow yourself, trust yourself, so that you can create the impact you desire in your life and with the ripple of transformation it creates beyond you!
