Showing Up As My Authentic Self, w/ a Smile
Butterflies in my belly, took a deep breath and walked into the coffee shop.
Smiled and waved at the person I was meeting for coffee for the first time. I always get a little bit nervous meeting people for the first time.
Walked up to the counter to order my tea, smiled at the barista and asked how her day was going?
“Pretty good, just getting going.” she said.
Placed my green tea order with a please, thank you and smile, and she said “I like your smile.”
“No reason not to smile, right?” I said.
“Yeah, you”re right, it’s good to have the reminder every now and then.”
She handed me my green tea in a ceramic mug with colorful flowers painted on it.
Sat down, and had a wonderful and expansive conversation with a new friend.
Remember, small moments can create big impact.
Even being nervous about my coffee meet up, I set my intention and aligned my energy to show up as my most authentic and genuine self possible.
I truly enjoy being a customer that SEES the person making my tea. That treats the grocery store clerk like an actual person. That takes the time to actually listen to how people are really doing.
Part of the reason I focus on aligning myself, growing myself and knowing myself is so that I can have the capacity to show up in that energy. Fully present, kind, genuine, with the barista, with new faces, old friends, family, clients, and students…
Even when I am nervous, even when I know I still have room to grow, even when I am uncomfortable
In love, light and gratitude,
Kelsey
